📝 Step-by-Step Tiling Instructions:
1. Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, flat, and structurally sound.
If tiling a wall, make sure it’s primed or covered with cement backer board.
Use a level to check flatness. Patch holes or dips if needed.
2. Plan the Layout
Measure the space and find the center point of the wall or floor.
Snap chalk lines in a cross to find your starting point.
Dry lay a few rows of tiles (with spacers) to preview how they’ll fit.
3. Mix the Adhesive
Mix thin-set mortar according to package instructions.
Only mix as much as you can use in 20–30 minutes.
4. Apply the Adhesive
Use the notched trowel to spread adhesive on a small section (not the whole area at once).
Hold the trowel at a 45° angle to create ridges.
5. Lay the Tiles
Press the tile firmly into the adhesive.
Place spacers between tiles to maintain even grout lines.
Use a level to ensure tiles are flat; tap lightly with a rubber mallet if needed.
6. Cut Tiles as Needed
Use a tile cutter for straight cuts or a wet saw for intricate shapes.
Wear safety goggles and follow the tool’s instructions.
7. Let Tiles Set
Allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours (check your product instructions).
8. Apply Grout
Remove spacers and mix the grout.
Use a grout float to press grout into the joints at a 45° angle.
Remove excess grout with the float held almost flat.
9. Clean Tiles
After 10–15 minutes, wipe off grout haze with a damp sponge.
Rinse sponge often and avoid pulling grout from the joints.
10. Seal (if necessary)
Once grout is dry (after ~24 hours), apply grout sealer if needed—especially in wet areas.
